Eonon A0581 Optical Fiber Decoder Box Designed for R65/Q65Pro/GA9465/GA9465B/GA9465D BMW E90/E91/E92/E93

So I see disaster reviews about this device. Long story short it had me stomped for a minute. The lack of good instruction. But awesome customer support I got it worked out. First of all after every was set up right how I like it the sound is just better and louder (this took a long time learning the eonon radio settings) (sound was low except bluetooth at first). Use the right and left front out put from your radio if not you could have a big headache like me where bluetooth work but no sound on calls. Feel a little cheap but works like a charm

Had no audio after installing eonon 9” head unit. This decoder fixed the problem now I have full audio sound is not quieter than normal like other people are saying it’s loud as stock. id recommend if your bmw has logic 7. Worked perfectly on my 07 335i convertible

Very easy to install will only plug in where it needs to b. Make sure u use the front RCA's out of the radio. It's not as loud but I think it gets loud enough and sounds clear.

Very cheap, poor build quality. Car's fiber optic connector comes loose from the very loose socket it sits in. Had to secure it with tape and zip ties. It doesn't really matter though, because the Eonon radio I'm stuck with doesn't work anyways.

Very dissapointed with the decoder. The front speakers appear to be getting the bass notes while the rear speakers are quiet. All speakers still work when connected to my eonon head unit (GA9465B). Can't fade from front to back. Basically, a loss of sound quality from stock. I wish Eonon would make a better fiber optic decoder to work with Logic 7.Update: I checked the wiring and the connections of the decoder and the head unit settings and now i think i got it to sound as loud as stock. Also for the rear speakers, i used some rca cable splitters to power the rear speakers. Rating updated to 3 stars.

De order box works great no issues so far. Only issue I found is that the notification charm it creates is annoying and nothing like the BMW chime.

After 5 long years I was waiting for this and it was worth it. Now my car looks great and sounds perfect.

I needed this to adapt a new Eonon head unit to my Logic 7 system in my 2006 330Xi. Moving optical connection from OEM harness to this device was straightforward. When hooking up the 'input' RCA R/L audio cables -- remember these hook to the 'output' RCA cables from the head unit. I wish the device took in rear cables as well so that fade functionality would have been maintained -- but I can live without this.Note that I get an 'SOS' error with this device, because the MOST bus controller functionality is not maintained. I expected this -- and will need to get the error coded out.

I work on the road alot, so when I finally had time to installed the unit, it does not work, everything else works great on the stereo but I'm not getting any sound, I took it to a professional installer and they confirmed the A0581 optical decoder is no good, And now Amazon is saying I can return it for one that works.

Product worked. Should come with the stereo unit not extra. And way overpriced.
