Frankly, I’m not sure I would have paid 40 for this.Yes it is made of wood. However, it seems to have not been sanded or finished as the wood has a rough texture/edges. On the upside all the pieces do go together and the fixtures (like the necklace hooks) are nailed in.It’s a bit of an awkward height as standard necklaces end up being too long and they droop in the lip in the door under the hooks. The hook height is better for chokers/bracelets.I do like the earring grid (which does swing out so you can add backs if you want). That door also has a lip in it to catch any fallen earring when the doors are being slammed around.Where this falls apart for me, and cheapens it, is it’s lined in a rough burlap-esque material that is hot glued in and does not like being poked or prodded. I wanted to try out the top ring/earring holder rolls and ended up lifting one out instead. Oops. I also found some fabric scraps in one of the drawers.Personally, I think this is suited for jewelry that won’t live in the box (as you’re always wearing it) or costume jewelry pieces. The rough lining material may not be the friendliest to easily scuffed/scratches pieces.As the jewelry box itself has some rougher edges, not sure I would gift it to children either, as they are known for being death seeking accident prone little gremlins. I would worry about them not reporting a splinter and suddenly were in the ER and someone’s missing a nail (still traumatized btw).So 3/5 stars as it does perform most of its function but could use some fine tuning to be worth 2-3 hours of work at minimum wage.

Its a nice cute storage box, lots of spaces for jewelry.However, please note that it is some sort of composite/bamboo wood.The issues I found were that all the hinges were loose and rattl-y because the screws for the hinges were all coming out. Took some wood glue to try and cement the screws in.For the price I dont think its worth it, unless it was some sort of actual pine or hard wood.
