School of WokNon-Stick Carbon Steel Wok (14"/36cm)

bought as we needed another larger wok for ator fry night for family of five. usually have this an one other on the go. heats up quickly and nice weight and shape. has got a build up of burnt residue on base which no amount of cleaning has removed and handle can get very hot when cooking

This seemed like a really good wok when it arrived, but some of the non-stick layer came away after only a few uses. Not great for something that is meant to last for years.

My previous non-stick wok (typhoon) lasted over 10 years but eventually became scratched and lost the non-stick feeling. I bought the School of Wok version as I had heard of the name and thought that it would be good quality. How wrong could I be?In the first month or so, it was used once a week using non-metallic utensils but as you can see the surface became pitted with hundreds of tiny specks where the coating had come off over 4 or 5 uses. I messaged School of Wok who got back to me after 5 days and sent out a replacement that arrived a week later with a message about this being a rare occurrence. The second wok was even worse than the first with the coating coming away after a single use. About 10mins of stir-frying chicken left lots of specks of bare metal and missing non-stick coating.Looking at the recent (2021) reviews for this and the 12inch version, it looks like this is becoming a common issue so perhaps a problem with a specific batch? Earlier reviews are good which is why I chose it.https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01ER5DHN0?th=1Currently waiting to hear about a refund as the wok is clearly not fit for purpose from a non-stick point of view.Other aspects:Wobbly for some reason on my induction hob - possibly the handle being a bit too heavyHeat transfer - OK but affected by the lack of balance due to the wobbleNon-stick - Good for the first use on the original wok but became dull and lost the non-stick effect after a few uses (as well as losing the actual material)

This is a very sturdy Wok , particularly like the wooden handles. Use it regularly for Stir-Frying , making Chinese or Indian dishes. Very pleased with this product.

Wanted a bigger Wok than the 12 inch one I have and this is perfect

All I care about is cooking a good stir fry and that’s what this wok does!!!
