Outstanding value!
The springboard for purchasing this wok was a recent TV series, by GoK Wan, on authentic chinese recipes and chinese methods of cooking them. I spent some considerable time researching what I believed to be a very suitable wok for my forthcoming attempts at genuine Asian cooking instead of the typical 'Westernised Chinese' dishes.Having made my decision and awaiting delivery of my purchase, my next step was to research the typical methods of 'seasoning' the wok. Having read in a few other reviews of the poor instructions which accompany this wok, I resorted to watching a number of 'You Tube' demonstrations before setting about the task. In fairness, I cannot agree those reviews that judge the seasoning instructions to be poor, but I do feel that watching a number of demonstrations gave me the confidence to do a thorough job of 'seasoning' my wok. This process, I feel, is absolutely crucial to a achieving the wonderful non-stick successes I have been achieving with my cooking.If you are willing to give a little time and effort to 'season' this wok, as all carbon steel woks should be prepared before use, then it really does prove to be a purchase of outstanding value. By comparison with some of the very expensive woks that are currently on offer, this very reasonably priced wok 'feels the business', being made of sturdy, heavy gauge, steel with an insulating wooden handle and a flat bottom design that allows it to sit safely on your cooker.A brilliant purchase that I would recommend to others.

Stir fry pan
Very strong and stir fries very well only disadvantage is after cleaning it needs to be oiled otherwise it rusts. I do this every time I use it before and after heat a little pile get a kitchen towel and wipe the oil around the pan do this a few times to remove any rust.

Wok Hay
This is a decent wok to get that wok hey, if you put the time in seasoning the wok correctly then you get a perfect non stick wok. just make sure you remove the wooden handle first when burning it to get that even seasoning all over.Feels slightly heavy when using but this also makes it harder to slip or move on your stove. can't recommend this wok enough

Good, but not without its problems.
After toying with the idea of a carbon steel wok for months, I chose this over a non-stick version. My biggest concern was me having a ceramic hob, and not gas. Part of me wanted to learn how to season my very first wok, and learn to care for it for many years to come. After watching many youtube videos and reading the best way to season a wok, I bought this.When it arrived I was excited to get started. The build quality is amazing, and very sturdy on my hob.After first seasoning my wok, I cooked my favourite dish; chicken chow mein. Within seconds the soy marinade and the chicken burnt on to the pan. Adding the noodles a short time later, they stuck too. What made it worse was the seasoning was now peeling off the wok.My problem really started seasoning this wok on a ceramic hob. Even on full, the heat didn't radiate high enough to seal in the seasoning, hence why it peeled off. Even after an hour of resesoning and recooking at least 5 times, my hob is not good enough.After taking it to my girlfriends and using it on her gas hob, the thing worked like a charm. The point it, I spent hours seasoning, washing, oiling this product. I ended up buying a non-stick one in the end, and that works perfect for me. Word of advice, if you don't have gas ... don't buy this product, you will not be able to season the wok as well as (I thought) you think.

Brilliant wok if you’re prepared to put the work in at the beginning
Having already got a Swift Carbon steel Wok (same product, different brand name, incidentally these are also the same as the “School of Wok” branded woks too) I needed another one so I could do rice/noodles at the same time as the main dish. As mentioned already having a carbon steel wok I knew what to expect regarding seasoning (I also use a lot of raw cast iron cookware and try to avoid non stick) seasoning process probably took 20 mins or so, pretty easy and was virtually non stick from that point on, just getting better each time I used it. Did have one disaster where I left the remnants of a meal in it overnight and it pulled the seasoning off, but no big deal, just went through the seasoning process again and all good.All in all, great product, fantastic value for money, and produces great food. Can’t envisage me needing a 3rd wok, but if I did, it would be another one of these.I’ve even used it sat on top of my weber bbq chimney starter for super heating and it’s been perfect. 10/10

Great Wok !!
I've never bothered writing a review before and probably this will be the last but I loved this wok so much! Even considering how little it cost this is a bloody good wok, I'm really pleased with it. Nice and heavy (I just got the 30cm) but it won't break your arm. I took a lot of care 'seasoning' it, a good couple of hours, (I had to do it on an electric 'glass' ring, gas would have been a whole lot quicker), but whatever wok you get your going to have to do that anyway unless you go non-stick. Non-stick is great but for a wok it defeats the whole purpose, woks add flavour, you don't get flavour from Teflon, you might just as well not bother and buy a non-stick frying pan.I would recommend this link for how to season.....[...]I used the hob method, even though I don't have gas, but you must get it (very) hot, if you follow the instructions faithfully (and take care!) it works well, use lard and don't forget to open the windows, (I had a Tesco delivery, the guy thought I was cooking a pig!). And remember, despite what some idiots on the internet tell you, never use soap to clean it!

What the Wok
It arrived quickly and looked the part, however, the seasoning instructions weren't great. It mentioned repeating the process to remove black residue, there was none. I just scrubbed the bejeezus out of it, then oiled and heated, seemed to work. The quality isn't the greatest but considering the price, you get what you pay for. It has been heavily used for the past month and apart from looking a bit worst for wares, I'm happy with its performance.

Muy contentos
Wok válido para gas, eléctrica, vitro e inducción. Llegó pronto y bien. Las instrucciones de uso y curado vienen en inglés, pero no es problema, además hay un montón de tutoriales en Internet. Si las sigues, el wok queda perfectamente curado y no se oxida, siempre y cuando lo uses para lo que está diseñado: saltear y freír. Hay quienes usan woks muy curados para cocer al vapor y pochar, pero yo no lo veo adecuado, simplemente lo uso para la típica cocina china/asiática y salteados en wok, y el resultado es buenísimo.Es más pesado que los wok convencionales, pero es normal, este aguanta vitro e inducción, y los más ligeros sólo se pueden usar con gas.Aunque parece un armatoste, es bastante fácil de limpiar, hay que lavarlo una vez enfriado, a mano, yo uso una gotita de detergente lavavajillas, agua caliente y una escobilla de bambú. Después lo secas bien, le pasas un paño de papel impregnado en aceite, y listo. El mango se puede desmontar, lo cual facilita el lavado y el almacenaje.

Buon prodotto
Un'ottima padella, robusta e versatile.Non trascurate l'operazione di stagionatura o rischierete di dover buttare la padella dopo il primo utilizzo.Attenzione alle dimensioni però. Un wok per funzionare bene deve avere poco cibo in cottura quindi più è piccolo e più è scomodo, questo in particolare riesce a cuocere una porzione per due persone alla volta.
