LiORLiOR Tahini, All Natural 100% Pure Ground Sesame, 16-Ounce Jars

I've just discovered homemade hummus. It's better than what you get in the grocery store, and less expensive. Ingredients are easy to find except for the tahini, so I looked to Amazon for that. I tried Lior brand based on the reviews, and I'm very happy with it. It's 100% sesame seed. The jar is shaped so that you can stir it with a tablespoon before pouring out the quantity you want. The jar doesn't say to refrigerate after opening, but that's what I do.So far I've made delicious hummus from chick peas, pinto beans, kidney beans, and split peas. I'm using a pound of dried beans or peas, a quarter cup of tahini, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and sometimes parsley and/or chicken stock. I do not add salt or oil. So far 100% success. The jar contains about 2 cups, which makes 8 batches of hummus with my recipe.

Living in Seattle it is not easy to find good raw Tahini especially if you are an Israeli who knows how the real thing should taste. We tried Al Wadi but found it to find a strange after taste. Also tried the MIDEAST brand (not on Amazon) but found it to be bland. For a while we were able to purchase the excellent "Prince Tahini" online but now it is almost impossible to find in a reasonable price. This Tahini on the other hand is surprisingly good, reasonably priced and very close in taste to "Prince Tahini". The label indicates it is manufactured by "Achdut" in Israel which is the same factory that manufactures the "Achva" Tahini and Halva. It arrived well packaged with no leaks or dents. Will definitely buy again.

The 16 oz size makes it easy to blend the product which you must do with all Tahinis as it separates when it sits as it does after packaging. Great taste.Great priceI add about 1/2 teaspoon of water and mix to thicken as it is naturally quite runny.Add a little honey if the taste is too strong. It will also thicken the tahini

Great price (12 pack), great flavor, a little bit on the thin side.May leak a bit of oil before being opened. When opening, excess floating oil may be poured off and used later for cooking. Upon opening, take the time necessary to thoroughly dig the hard stuff from the bottom and blend it smooth throughout.I keep one open on the counter at room temperature for pouring, and one open in the refrigerator for spreading with a knife.

The flavor is great, and I like more of a runny tahini, so I'm very happy with this product. Fresh jar mixes easy after opening, and keeps well. For those that are familiar with the Pepperwood brand, I think this is identical in terms of taste and consistency.

Tastes great and mixing with soy sauce, sesame oil and sushi vinegar makes this into a very yummy sesame dressing. I originally bought this for hummus but because of its rather runny consistency I can easily mix it into almost anything. I make my own healthy crackers in my dehydrator, and I put this into the mixture of seeds, nuts and root vegetables (and seasonings), and it has become a staple for my cracker recipe. I am glad I found this brand. Since I bought many of it, I will continue to enjoy for a while. Thanks!

It is unhulked sesame ( it is better for you than hulled one) it has bitter taste not like the hulled one. I like it because it is more nutritious. It comes from Israel. It does have a lot of oil

I am certainly no tahini expert, but this stuff makes some amazing hummus! So much healthier (and surprisingly quick and easy!) than the store bought hummus...my youngest son can whip up a batch for his dad in less than 5 minutes. My only complaint is the packaging, the jars are kind of squishy and were quite oily when I opened the box. They were all sealed, so I assume it's just messy to package.
