Slightly different with beautiful lay down
These are ink markers. I thought was ordering acrylic markers that are paint pens and at the same time I ordered Arrtx acrylic markers that are acrylic paint. I obviously didn’t read the description but have a set of their pencils and thought I was trying a paint pen from a company I liked (haha). Prepared to return them, but decided to take a look instead Always looking for something new.Turns out I love these markers. They have a very small very precise and very flexible brush tip. The tip takes very slight even pressure to use properly. There are 48 colors that have been selected to represent what you might need in a piece without any color being over or under represented eg there are two browns, one is a deep brown like Prismas chocolate and also a reddish brown like Prismas Sienna brown. Very nice. They do bleed through the page but not to the paper beneath it . Though I suppose with enough repetition or pressure they could. The caps are clear but the opposite end has small dome that fairly accurately represents the color of the ink. I am quite pleased with them and would recommend them without reservation. I think they are fairly priced. I am an amateur to be sure but it is a fun hobby that is actually enhanced by these markers. Their lay down is so smooth and effortless it is hard to put them down.

Pleasantly surprised
I was surprised of the vibrant color in the ease of use it helped me highlight my work. I like these are non-toxic.

Perfect for use as described but not for directly replacing watercolors and brushes.
When I bought these Arteza Real Brush Pens I was under the impression that they were able to be used with watercolor art. I saw reviews where the artists were able to add water with a brush and blend the ink like you would do with actual watercolor but it didn't work for me. No matter how thin or thick the line I could never blend it enough to really have a smooth gradient. Once I realized that they weren't what I had expected I began to love them as a way to add more depth of color to my watercolor paintings as well as with colored pencil work that was done using heavy weight paper. The colors are rich and vibrant. The brushes are soft and fluid and the tips are sharp making it simple to fill in very tiny areas of the pictures I am working on. I would not recommend using them for covering large areas of background and they are far to wet to use in most coloring books including the higher quality ones found in most adult coloring books. As watercolor brushes I can't recommend them but when used as a brushed marker which is what they are marketed under they are perfect and are great for creating details. The example picture I am including was done with watercolors but the details such as the text and also the bright Lego were done with the Arteza and you can see how rich the color is compared to watercolor. Clearly I am not an artist but this gives you an idea of what I am trying to describe.

A fun painting tool
These Real Brush Pens are a fun art tool to play with but they are difficult to control. Some of the pens produce vibrant, even colors while others are splotchy and somewhat dry. Using the water brush pen with the set helps with evening out the color placement, however, you have to work quickly to get an even spread. Also, the dry colors take more water to get any kind of even wash which unfortunately ends up destroying the paper (Arteza Watercolor Pad, 140lb, Cold Pressed Paper). The ink/paint is hard to control. It is difficult to get a clean edge, the colors tend to bleed out from the working surface. This could be an issue with the type of paper used, however, I would expect watercolor pens to behave like watercolor paint on watercolor paper. That said, there are definitely fun to use. If you are planning on painting a masterpiece, invest in some higher quality paint pens. If you are a casual artist or enjoy doodling or practicing in between projects, these pens are decent for the money. Perhaps with more practice one could produce a decent painting with these but I personally wouldn't risk it. With that I will continue to enjoy doodling with these pens. (FYI: I purchased these during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and got them for $15 which I feel is decent for the quality of pen).

High quality!
I’d never done water color brush pens before buying these. They are very nice quality and the pigment is strong. Easy to blend for the most part. Once the pigment dries into the paper it can be a bit more difficult to blend. Overall I use these a fair amount and they were well worth the money.

Easy to use
Recently, I have been dabbling in watercolor. I like that I can control the intensity of the color and how easily one color blends with another. A friend has purchased these pens 3x and recommended them to me. I'm really enjoying them. I have the 24 pack and there's a nice assortment of colors. Of course there is never THE color I'm looking for, but these are a nice set. They're super simple to use. I like the actual brush tip because I can do many different things with it. I tried them in an adult coloring book and they did well. The color is vibrant with good coverage. The coloring book pages only got a ripple where I had to cover a large area. Even then it's just a mild distortion and I'm glad these pens are versatile.

Perfect for traveling art
I love these markers! They are perfect to take on trips. They work really well, the pigment is perfect. The only thing that is annoying is if it gets water on them it makes the color disappear which is great if that’s what you want but I find it a little annoying. Best used wet on wet. It’s hard to blend from dry to wet sometimes. Overall a great product!

Best watercolour pens
I use these over watercolour pencils on the parts I want to make pop. I'd like to have more yellows, there are 2 and for me this isn't enough, but I've not found a set with more. They are really easy to use, marvellous colour payoff whether used alone or over another media, this is my 2nd or 3rd set, and I will continue to buy more. They last a fair while, if you don't find the kids have smuggled them off and scrubbed them... so get a high cupboard or lockable box if this could be applicable to you. I highly recommend them, very cathartic and a pleasure to play around with.
