Well Made but even at sale price of $11.95, Still Pricey
Pros:Nicely built and machined here in America. Light weight, easy to use and, looks very nice.Cons:At the sale price of $11.95 it is a little pricey.I toyed with the idea of getting this for a while before I decided to buy. Most (but not all) 1911's I work on I can remove the bushing with my bare hands. For those that I can not, I already have a couple steel tools that came with 1911's I own. I agree with other reviewers that put this above the nylon made tools. They are crap and if you don't have a steel one and you feel you need a tool, pay for this one and don't buy the nylon. So why did I buy this? I do think you have less chance (but it could still happen if you are not careful over what you are doing) of scratching the finish on the slide than you do with a steel tool. Again, if you are careful that is not going to happen with the steel one either. So why? It does exactly what it supposed to do, made in America, and is so light weight it feels great in the hand. It will also work with different model 1911's. It has a very professional tool look to it. When someone brings me a gun to look at I often for any one of many reasons disassemble or partially disassemble it right in front of them. I believe the overall appearance of your work station and the TOOLS YOU USE has an impact on the perception the customer has. So, there you have it. Even though I already had tools that would do the job I purchased it because it looks good. If you are looking at this for yourself and you like the appearance of your tools in your armorers tool and cleaning box(s) you will like this. If you really don't care about appearance and you have a steel tool already that works on any and all 1911's you own, you may should just pass this one by. As well made as this is I deducted one star because even though the price is not all that high I feel for what this is, around $8 would be more in the ballpark.

Early bird gets the worm, second mouse gets the cheese
Captivated by the allure of the red aluminum and seduced by the provocative promise of free shipping, I pressed the 'order now' button. After all, it was made in 'Merica by 'Mericans. Unfortunately, free shipping was apparently by overland stagecoach and took three weeks to arrive.Being a fan of immediate gratification, I ordered a nylon wrench from Midway which arrived in three days. It's a bit pricey but very well made and fits the bushing on my Springfield Armory 1911 like a glove. It resides in my cleaning kit. The nylon one is in my range bag. It's ergonomic and fits my big paws well. It's fairly robust - I won't have to buy another one any time soon. Pros - sturdy, well constructed, made in the USA. Cons - a bit pricey, tortoise like shipping. Would I buy another one? Definitely.

Works great with Taurus PT1911 Government model 1911!
I am using this with my Taurus PT1911. This tool fits it nice, although this is not exactly what I was looking to order, it gets the job done and I can't complain. I opted in for the Amazon Prime free trial and I had this 2 business days after I ordered by UPS, and S&H was free! I would suggest this to a friend. I'm assuming the other end of the tool is for a Officer's/Commander model 1911? If that's the case, then this is an all in one bargain. I got tired of my recoil spring + recoil spring plug wanting to shoot out across the room or at my eye and this has helped. Might take a couple tries but you will get used to this.

Shop quality for the shooter
Certainly does what it was intended for and will turn bushings that need some coercing. Should survive bouncing around in bottom of a range bag without getting bent. Good value appears to be range or gun shop quality tool, almost overkill, at affordable single user price. The Aluminum alloy is tough enough to be durable and have strength for tough bushings yet soft enough to not scratch the pistol's finish. It is a wide handful, wider than expected, but just what you need to turn the bushing while holding the recoil spring in place. After using it a few times, I am starting to appreciate that extra width to plant your thumb and hold the spring comfortably.

Great Tool, especially for those who only occasionally disassemble their 1911
Well made, appears not to be a threat to the harder metals on the pistol .Too many people put their eyes at risk during the disassembly process. If you disassemble the gun frequently you probably do not need this although it is handy and makes the job easier.

Probably the best bushing wrench I know own.
Very sturdy. I like this little metal tool, I think it'll last forever. The aluminium is not as tough as the steel so I don't worry too much about scratching but, I do find that I use a polymer one for my pride and joy 1911 but for my combat field guns this thing is pretty nifty. In reality, you should be able to strip your 1911 with just your fingers but this little contraption does seem to save my fingertips some pain so I use it.

1911 bushing wrench
length was considered for big hands for better grip, also the color.would be nice to have manufacture put a coat of scratch proof or protective coating of somekind as the wrench is turned to seat the bushing from scratching, seems a bit thick could shave a32nd of an inch to seat better but did the job o. k,thanks again

Definitely superior to the plastic models
Definitely superior to the plastic models. Being colorful makes them easy to spot against dark backgrounds. I have increased the strength of my recoil springs and the plastic barrel bushing wrenchs get marked by the open ended tube that allows the one piece recoil spring to pass through it. They, after time, get to looking disreputable. The aluminum does not seem to suffer from that. I also liked how it filled my hand.
