Good desk as long as you are not too tall. Could be better but it's good for the price.
I had a hard time deciding whether to give this desk 4 stars or 5. It's a pretty good desk but there are a couple of little things that could be improved. I still can't decide which rating to give it, so I'll maybe just put 4 and you can read the details below. The width of this desk is perfect for a computer with two monitors of 24 inches or so. If I was going with a single monitor setup, I would get the narrower one (31.5 inches). It's really a computer station so there's no need for all the extra sideways inches. That's my opinion, though. You may need the extra width. The build quality is pretty good. The metal is pretty solid and the black composite pieces (Some kind of durable plastic) are much better than expected. They seem waterproof and very strong. There are many levels of height adjustment on this. I bet you could use it as a sitting desk as well if you wanted. Assembly is pretty easy. They actually forgot to send me the set of bolts that hold it together. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me out a new set right away. Pretty good customer service. One thing to be aware of: this is not a great desk if you are very tall. I'm 5'8" and the tallest setting here is just right for me when I am standing. Maybe the second tallest setting. For a person who is 6'1" or something, this would not be enough. Maybe I just like my keyboard higher than other people. Something to be aware of if you are tall, though. If you are shorter than me there will be no problem whatsoever.I also kind of wish the monitor level was a bit higher. Still, that's easily fixed with a couple of books under the monitors. Some suggested that it would be nice if the difference between the two levels was adjustable. I agree, but that seems like a lot to expect at this price point. At the time that I purchased it, this was a very economical choice. It's not trivial to change the height of this. I had debated getting one that cranks or even has electronics in it to lift it up, but the price difference was large. I figured that my height isn't changing, so I'll just get chairs that hold me up this high or I'll use a sitting desk for my other computer. What's the experience of working at a standing desk like? Well, you can't really just stand here all day. At least, I can't. My knees and feet start hurting. But you can do an hour or so at a time and then you can sit on a leaning chair or a drafting chair or you can walk around and sit down somewhere. I think it's actually good. I use it in my home office and I find it easy to work in these quantities of time, but not easy to waste time on the internet. I don't think I could watch a movie on this. It's also better if you have people come look at your screens. It's always awkward in a sitting desk when someone comes over to see something you have up on your computer and they end up taking your seat or crouching over your shoulder. But on a standing desk it is very natural for them to walk over and take a look at it with you.One bone with this desk: there is some wobble in the forward-backward direction. This may be partially because I have it at its highest setting, but I think it's mainly the design. The top and bottom pieces are held together by two bolts and the holes they go into in the frame have some extra space, so the top piece can rock back and forth. I tried fixing it by adding some shims in there but it didn't work. Probably I'll end up tying the back of the top piece of the back of the bottom piece so it doesn't flex forward when I type. It's not that huge a deal and may not affect all people (depends on where the weight of the items on your desk is) but it's a bit of a bother for me. That was the thing that really convinced me that this is a 4 start item instead of a 5.Having said that, I also needed a second desk for a different location in my house and ended up getting the same thing, so I obviously like it.

With some easy mods, this desk is amazing!
I am thrilled with this desk. I was looking for a low budget standing desk that would support dual monitors, have enough shelf space for tech gadgets, and a clear working area - all without being bulky. With a couple of nice, low cost enhancements, this desk more than delivers. All told, I spent $200 for the desk and accessories. This far exceeds any comparable offerings, especially in a standing desk. A quick note, I am 5'6" and use the desk at the tallest setting, which leaves my elbows at a perfect 90 degrees when barefoot. For those concerned about making the desk adjustable for sitting, I recommend you try a drafting chair/stool. When standing, you push the chair to the side and while seated, the chair is tall enough to be seated comfortably without adjusting the desk. I splurged on my chair a bit at $235, but I recommend Eurotech Apollo Mesh Back Drafting Stool - 26-1/2 -36-1/2" Seat Height - Black .I did a couple of cheap enhancements to this desk to make it even more productive for me. I installed an under tray keyboard shelf to keep my laptop, USB hub, and external drives out of the way. Alera SE313014ES SedinaAG Series Underdesk Keyboard/Mouse Shelf, 30 x 14-Inc-Inch, Espresso Be careful with the install. The shelf screws are about .25" too long and will puncture through to the working surface if you're not careful. I learned the hard way and had to Dremel the screw bits poking out, sand, and then re-paint. Spend $3 at Home Depot for 8 shorter screws and save yourself some pain.I also installed a dual LCD stand for this. Halter Dual LCD Monitor Stand Desk Clamp for 27-Inch LCD Monitors (YKHL2MNT) It makes this desk a little back heavy, but if you use the bottom shelf to hold weighty items (ie: printer, tower, etc), this shouldn't be an issue. If this desk is backing a wall, it's even less an issue. However, even with the LCD's installed, I never felt like the desk was going to tip over unless I leaned on the back-top panel directly.I like to power off my electronics from a power strip. With this desk, I ended up attaching a strip with Velcro to the back of the top cross beam support. At waist level, this makes it easily accessible for shut off.Unfortunately, cable management is a challenge, but it's nothing that a few zip ties and some hidden storage at the back of the keyboard tray won't fix. With the hub and power strip at waist height, all cables stay directly under the desk platforms and only the power cord gets run down a desk leg.So total of 4 stars, 1 off for not coming with all the enhancements and a slight balance issue, but overall a great base to work from.
