Not worth the $$
Stool was perfect size and looked nicer in my bathroom than typical bulky plastic kids stools. However, the second time my 4 year old daughter stood on it (no jumping) to brush her teeth it snapped in two. She weighs less than 40#. Very disappointed as we didn’t even have it for 24 hours. Perhaps I just got a faulty stool. But less than pleased with quality.

You get what you pay for
Two pieces of bamboo were slightly cracked before I started building, doesn't appear to affect structural integrity, though. Easy to assemble, I mean its only 4 screws, if you don't count that the screw head stripped the allen wrench halfway into the first screw. Nbd, I have a multitool allen wrench handy. One of the screw holes was drilled at a slightly wonky angle, but it still works and the screw sink kinda hides it. The biggest issue imo is the first time I used it (as a foot rest) the bench top tried to impale my foot with a 4 inch splinter. I've since covered the top with vinyl, but I would hate to see a kid get impaled with a splinter like that. The bamboo is dry, so if you buy this, be prepared to put a cover on it before use, or suffer consequences.

Cheaply made, defective
I would not buy this product again. Biggest issue is it is missing the screw holes on the step piece. The finish is also really rough, and I’m a bit afraid it will splinter. I drilled screw holes in but assembly is imperfect. Only reason I’m keeping is i hate to think of the waste, and this will be used on a patio where all kids will be wearing shoes and so there’s less danger of splinters. We have a “Growing up green” step stool similar to this one that I bought years ago. I wish I’d stuck with that brand for this purchase.

An "Attractive Nuisance". Looks like a stool. Not for stepping on.
This works for my purpose, but I can also see an inherent danger in having an item that for all the world appears to be a step stool, but is not at all sturdy to step on. I needed it for my 3 LB yorkie to be able to jump to the couch. I had to buy an adhesive fabric for the top, so he wouldn't slide during his 'jump'. If anyone came to my home and didn't KNOW how flimsy it is, they might grab it to reach into a cupboard and get seriously hurt. Too risky.

Broke with First Use
Maybe I should have read the product description because it said max 30 pounds. Tbh, by the time a child is old enough to use this stool, he/she is probably at or nearing the weight limit. That said, I don’t expect it to be usable for very long or for many purposes. Tbh, one of those cheap plastic stools would last longer. It literally broke in half the very first time I sat on it. My advice is spend the extra $10 to buy another wood one that can hold more weight… or just get the cheap plastic one

decent stool, but the bamboo split when we set the anchor.
One of the anchors was not drilled out correctly, and the bamboo on the side of the stool split when we set the anchor. We debated whether to return it for a replacement, but we think it will be OK. This is the second of these we bought, because we loved the first one so much. The first one did not have this problem, and all the anchors set without splitting.

Splintered when being assembled
This is a stepping stool for a small child. All surfaces were rough and I got a sprinter screwing in the screws. In order to be usable, it needs to be sanded and refinished so our baby doesn't get splinters in her feet. Both poor manufacturing and poor value

Cute for nursery decor
It looks just as the picture shows. It's soft and cute. However, I wanted it to use in the nursery as a stool for my rocker, but it's a bit too tall and a little too stiff. Great for a cute decore piece though.
