Stronger than I expected. Do not expose yourself to the light. Do not look at the light. Not kidding. I bought these to kill a mold problem and they worked. I put two of these lights in a dark 12x12 room with a dehumidifier for two weeks. The UV light killed the mold and the dehumidifier has kept it from coming back. While I was installing the dehumidifier, the lights were turned on. The next day my eyes were puffy and red and sore and my vision was cloudy. I also had what looked like sunburn on my arms. My doctor said, "Don't do that again."

Update 06/2018 - Don’t buy ‼️Replacement bulb not same as original - see picture..... Burnt out in 2 hrs.!I've researched the 'Poops' out of this concept and could write a book.In short, stagnant condensate water breeds mold.UV light is on the blue end of the visible light spectrum.Depending on the corresponding wavelength we call it UVA/UVB/UVC.UV light is responsible for plant growth, tanning, fading on fabrics and paint, sterilizing environment. Excess UV is harmful to skin and eyes.Donot gaze at UV lamps for more than 2-5 seconds.Now in case of mold eradication best is UVB AND UVC wavelength of light.A/C companies sell you proprietary 'Low Voltage' units and bulbs.Until recently we had two choices to eradicate mold/algae...1/ Pay the A/C companies Or2/ Regular use of chemicals ie. Vinegar, bleach, etc.Now you can go to Amazon and buy a regular GE UVB/UVC light bulb and a ceramic bulb holder, all from one supplier for $20-30Installation is on YouTube.Voilá

I had a case of athletes foot that I just couldnt seem to get rid of. What we forget is that we change and wash our clothes daily, but when it comes to our footwear, those aren't "cleaned" or changed daily. It's no wonder that if you suffer from athlete's foot, that the fungus will also grow in your footwear as well, thereby reinfecting your feet. I had done it all; sprays, powders, foot soaks, etc but still couldn't get rid of it. I was about to throw my new sneakers away, but read about how these lights had helped others sterilize footwear. I decided to try these and WOW! after two 15 minute exposures, my sneakers are not only oderless, but within a week of continued foot treatments (baking soda and water soaks) and using these lights to sterilize my footwear, OH MY GOD! my feet are happy! Like others have said, do not use these lights in occupied space and do not leave them on for more than 15 minutes at a time. They do get hot! Using a timer is highly recommended!

ZERO stars, it literary burned out within an hour of use! It came within unmarked white box without any labels on the lamp itself. This is likely some sort of grey market product, no UL logo or anything similar. Avoid if you have other options. Luckily Amazon will take this back.2h later Update:I forgot to mention, Amazon will send you two light bulbs for price of one. My second one lasted about 30 minutes before it went out with a loud bang, flash and burning smell. I would consider these to be dangerous and would not leave them unattended. They get VERY hot for a 15Watts bulb, so please be careful. Amazon should pull these of the site.

It works. I can by the ozone smell, that I know very well. I bought two of them and used them already in all our rooms. First night after using it for 35-45 minutes in each room my kids did not have those annoying staffed noses. Personally I could breath easier.Hopefully I will be able to use them at least for 5-6 months. I will be updating my review periodically to inform on longevity. As to the performance, it looks like these lamps illuminate at least two spectrum: 254 and a lower one, which is absolutely perfect for me. I wanted ozone producing lamps. So no need to buy them separately.It helps with odor and helps to refresh the rooms and bathrooms. I used it in the cat's bathroom as well and it worked like a charm. Love this addition for my house.Best thing about these lamps is that they use regular medium base holder. You can simply unscrew your other bulb and place this when needed. And when done, just replace it with your regular bulb. Very convenient and no need in extra fixtures in most cases.You can easily see that it is turned on by purplish blue color. And it is visible light so you can tell it on even during the day with the brightest sunny weather.Be careful not looking at the light for longer that 1-2 seconds. Also stay out of the room, where you are using it. Keep your pets away as well.Sometimes people use these lights for medical disinfecting of the body. It is not safe and not designed for that. If you are staying in a close proximity, shouldn't be there for longer than 3-5 minutes. And wear protective glasses.Overall I am very satisfied so far. Will se how long they will last.

Bulb may not be authentic. In contrast to the images of the bulb on the Norman Lamps site, the bulb I received (i) is missing the NLI logoand (ii) has an extra square metal piece beside the filament. Unless Norman Lamps updated the design and removed all brand markings, the bulb is a generic.The bulb also appears used. There is a slight indentation, probably from hitting something else. In that indentation is a foreign material, probably deposited by the hit.I've used for about 10 hours combined and it appears to work. It gives off a slight purple glow (don't look at it without eye protection), but I don't have a UVC sensor to verify that 254nm is being emitted. It does leave an enclosed room with a pungent smell indicative of ozone, so it probably is giving off ionizing wavelengths at and below 254nm.

The lamp does not work at all: I tested the impedance : lamp connector is not connected to spirals .(One guy reported it in comments), but I bought it and he was right: fake lamp .It works for pumping money only. DONT BUY.

Works great in very small doses to eliminate white powder mildew right off marijuana plants, and help other leaves to repel it. Leave on away from plants to sterilize grow room from mould/mildew. Kills dust mites, eliminates odour from carpet. Handy bulb. Definitely protect your skin and eyes from it’s light.

Bulb arc'd and sparked when I put it into regular light socket, couldn't return it because I have no printer so now I'm out the money and have a fire hazzard to show for it.

Play with UV-C radiation , but wear sun glasses .... Make your own Shoe Sterilizer. Kills most organic based microbes. Put it in any air stream to zap spores or bacteria as it passes over it. Hospitals use UV-C , it works.

Life Hours is actually 0.00. Product does not work. Besides screw in, plug in and turn on, am I missing something?

Not sure if it overheated or just has a very limited lifespan, but died after approx 48 hours of total use.

This light is very effective.Do not expose to people, plants, or animals. It doesn't look bright, which can be deceiving.....it really is dangerous to expose.

Easy to use in a small lamp. I got a caged “trouble light” used to repair cars so I can put it against fabrics without risk of fire or melting something. Works good for stain removal.

it works ok, but after looking around, I could have bought a 20W light for $15 just about anywhere else. I suppose that's what I get for not shopping around.

Does not work upon arrival. Returned

Today I received it and put it to use tonight. It lasted about 1.5 hours and then went dead. NO way to shop this brand again.

but it stopped working after the light had been on for 15 minutes, we are returning it

lasted about 3 months, got it january 3, it died today after a total run time of about 10 hours.
